EVNTYD (pronounced ‘eventide’), the musical project of Julián Berdegué, has steadily gained momentum since debuting their first single in October 2021. The Austin, Texas based artist set out at the beginning of the pandemic to create a body of work all by himself, eliminating the need to rely on others and ultimately creating the music he had been hearing in his head for years. With spare time on hand, the guitarist learned the basics of bass, drums and music production from the comfort and isolation of his bedroom - this resulted in a body of work that would go on to become his debut album, Eventide. Over the years, EVNTYD has received recognition from Spotify (All New Indie, Fresh Finds, All New Rock, undercurrents), Apple (New In Alternative, New In Rock), and Deezer (ASAP Rock), a trend that continued through his sophomore LP titled Lifelines, released on October 14. The gravitas of Lifelines lies in the process. A process in which Julián meticulously constructed a narrative that chronicles the escape of the mundane through the vices most accessible to us. For EVNTYD, Lifelines marks a shift towards intentional songwriting that allows him to delve deeper into the motifs that resonate most with his audience.

Punchy, purposeful drums, lightly growling basslines, and a wash of melancholic guitars, help define EVNTYD’s signature sound. Reminiscent of bands like DIIV, Beach Fossils, Slow Pulp, and Day Wave, the buzzing musician is churning out timeless pieces of shoegaze influenced indie rock.
